Introducing Brand-New Features to Help You Find Deeper Connections
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we’re debuting exciting new product features built to highlight your individuality, and a sneak peek at our new look

At OkCupid, we’re dedicated to helping our members connect on a deeper level — whether they’re looking for someone new to hang out with or “the one.” Today we’re announcing two new, major product features that will do just that. You’ll notice both of them in the app, and we’re excited to hear what you think. Plus, next month we’ll roll out a fresh new, illustration-driven look — and we’re giving you a sneak peek right now.
NEW 2017 Questions & Categories:
Our iconic questions have been a central part of the OkCupid experience since the beginning. With every question you answer, the better we understand you and can match you with people you’ll really click with. Our questions let you express yourself, even discover yourself, and share your opinion on the things you care most about.
2017 brings a host of topics we know you’re extremely passionate about — topics that, just a couple of years ago, we never would have thought would be so relevant today.

You’ll see a brand-new category of questions that cover topical issues, so you can focus in on the things — whether politics or sex — that are most important to you. We’ll update this new question category every year. The initial 2017 release includes 50 of-the-moment questions, covering everything from ghosting to Trump, from climate change to student debt — the things you want to know a person’s stance on before you meet them.
NEW DoubleTake Mobile Matching:
We’ve all had a date with someone who looked really cute online, but then there was nothing to talk about once you met in person. When you fly past a selfie, you miss out on who that person really is and what you may, or may not, have in common.
We know you’re more substance than just selfie, so OkCupid’s new DoubleTake feature offers a deeper look at each member’s individuality right from the start. DoubleTake shows more photos and highlights each person’s personality and profile within a mobile matching interface. The new DoubleTake helps convey your individuality — whether that means showcasing a love for politics, craft beer, dogs, the outdoors, or art — so you can connect with people you’ll actually click with in real life.

“With DoubleTake, we show many more facets of a person — we’re showing what makes people tick so that you’ll have better dates and better relationships. OkCupid has always been a place for interesting people who want to connect based on something more than just looks, because every person has a story. Instead of helping members speed up, our DoubleTake feature slows them down — so that they can appreciate each other’s individuality,” said OkCupid CEO Elie Seidman.
The beta launch of DoubleTake demonstrated that slowing the experience leads to better connections — and more of them, too. Since DoubleTake’s beta launch, mutual matches on the app have tripled.
Previewing OkCupid’s Fresh New Look:
This March, we’ll debut a fresh new look featuring fun, lively illustrations by Jay Daniel Wright, a talented artist based in Berlin whose work can be found in The New York Times, Die Ziet, and Bloomberg Businessweek. Other key elements of the design will include new typography and a bolder, cleaner aesthetic.

“OkCupid welcomes a vibrant community of progressive, innovative individuals,” Seidman explained. “We wanted our new design to reflect that, and also represent the individuality of OkCupid, too.”
It’s you — our members — who make OkCupid the interesting, welcoming, artsy, nerdy, chill, cultured, foodie, outdoorsy, passionate, zen, quirky place that it is. Thank you for adding to the vibrancy of the OkCupid community.
